This study involves a gross examination of surgically resected tissue specimens, followed by a microscopic study of the tissue samples subjected to histopathological studies. A surgical pathology specimen is examined at Level II to get more information about the gross morphological examination and the microscopic tissue findings at lower lever scanning. This is done to confirm what was seen on the gross and make sure there isn’t a major disease process.
