The Adrenocorticotropic Hormone (ACTH) Baseline Test, also known as the Cosyntropin Stimulation Test (CST), is employed for the diagnosis and management of patients with adrenal insufficiency. This test evaluates the ability of the adrenal cortex to generate cortisol in response to ACTH by measuring the levels of blood cortisol at baseline after ACTH injection.
