The IgE allergy test for Baker’s yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) is used for the diagnosis and management of a patient’s allergy to the yeast. S. cerevisiae gp200 is the main antigenic molecule that causes allergy. This test is used by healthcare professionals when chronic urticaria or Baker’s asthma is suspected of Baker’s yeast allergy. This test is also used in patients with atopic dermatitis with or without eczema.
Important note: Minimum volume is 1 mL and 0.5 mL for every additional allergen.
