The IgE allergy and enterotoxin B test is employed to identify staphylococcal enterotoxin B (SEB). SEB, a potent superantigen, has the potential to impact the immune system, causing various infections. Healthcare professionals utilize this test for the diagnosis of toxin-mediated foodborne diseases (food poisoning). The test also aids in the diagnosis of non-menstrual toxic shock syndrome, allergic airway diseases, and ulcerative colitis.
Important note: Minimum volume is 1 mL and 0.5 mL for every additional allergen.
