Serum storage for six months involves preserving blood serum samples under controlled conditions while maintaining sample integrity and safety. Serum is stored at -20°C or lower in labeled aliquots under regulated and monitored temperature conditions that inhibit enzymatic and biochemical degradation, alterations in protein stability, and degradation of labile analytes. Monitoring temperature and quality checks, as well as biochemical and immunoassay validation, are done to maintain stability.
Important note: This is a request for archiving serum samples for deceased donor waitlisted recipients. Five serum sample aliquots will be stored for 6 months. Each aliquot will be used for future antibody testing or crossmatches.
