Acarus siro belongs to the Acaridae family of storage mites, popularly known as the flour or grain mite. Conventionally linked with occupational exposure in rural workers, storage mites have been more recently associated with non-occupational sensitization in urban environments, causing asthma, contact dermatitis, and rhinoconjunctivitis. Healthcare providers employ this test to diagnose sensitivity and provide guidance for allergen-specific immunotherapy.
Important note: Minimum volume is 1 mL and 0.5 mL for every additional allergen.
