IgE Allergy, Animal Panel 2 tests for dander (cat, dog) and epithelium (guinea pig, rat, mouse). Dander allergy is triggered when tiny, airborne pet dander is inhaled. Dander particles in the environment for extended periods cause prolonged exposure, leading to a Type 1 hypersensitivity reaction presenting with rhinitis, asthma, conjunctivitis, food allergy, and atopy. Healthcare professionals utilize this test to determine allergic status and guide allergen-specific immunotherapy.
Animal Panel 2:
E1 Cat Dander – Epithelium
E5 Dog Dander
E6 Guinea Pig Epithelium
