A basic metabolic panel (BMP) is a test that estimates eight distinct substances in blood. It provides crucial information about body’s chemical balance and metabolism. A BMP comprises tests for the following: Glucose, Calcium, Sodium, Potassium, Carbon dioxide, Chloride, and Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN).
