Chimerism Transplant (Post) without cell selection

General Info:

Description:

Chimerism can be defined as the presence of two genetically different cell populations in a person resulting from transplantation procedures. In post-transplant settings, chimerism analysis helps to monitor the degree of engraftment of donor tissue cells in the recipient’s body. It is performed with molecular assays PCR, FISH or short tandem repeat analysis. Monitoring indicates potential graft rejection and guides immunosuppressive therapy adjustments.
