IgE Allergy, Moth test detects serum IgE levels in individuals who are exposed to allergens produced silkworm (Moth). The scales covering the wings of moths can trigger Type 1 hypersensitivity reactions including allergic rhinitis, asthma, allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, wheezing, generalized urticaria, angioedema, and occasionally severe anaphylaxis. This test aids health care providers to find out the allergens causing allergic reactions.
Important note: Minimum volume is 1 mL and 0.5 mL for every additional allergen.
