Oregano is a perennial grown plant known to induce Type 1 hypersensitivity reaction on exposure through ingestion. Sensitized individuals can develop rhino conjunctivitis, asthma, dysphagia, dysphonia and contact dermatitis. Severe allergies or anaphylaxis are rarely seen. This test detects specific IgE antibodies involved in causing such allergic reactions.
Important note: Minimum volume is 1 mL and 0.5 mL for every additional allergen.
