IgE Allergy, Persimmon test detects serum IgE levels in individuals presenting allergic reactions after consumption of persimmon fruit. IgE binding to persimmon proteins has been detected and is implicated in causing type 1 hypersensitivity reaction. Incidences of allergy are rare, however few instances present with oral allergy syndrome, atopic reaction, and cross-reactive allergies with a primary sensitization.
Important note: Minimum volume is 1 mL and 0.5 mL for every additional allergen.
