The Hepatitis C Antibody detects antibodies against the hepatitis C virus (HCV), often contracted through blood contact or needle sharing, leading to conditions like cirrhosis and liver cancer. Pregnant women, immunocompromised persons, and transplant patients are advised to take this test. Healthcare providers use it to detect HCV exposure, post-transfusion hepatitis, recent infections, or carrier states.
If the HCV Screening test is positive, HCV Supplemental test will be performed at additional cost.
