After completing his residency and board certification in Clinical Microbiology in Hannover, Germany, in 1995, Dr. Weber received his Master of Science in Preventive Medicine from the University of Iowa, Iowa, USA, in 1997.
Before he decided to move to the UAE, he was the director of the Institute for Microbiology and Hospital Hygiene in Hoyerswerda, Germany, for seven years, and for three years the director of the Bioscientia Medical Microbiology Laboratory in Saarbruecken, Germany.
He joined SKMC Laboratories in 2010 and completed his Certification in Infection Control in 2012.
In 2014 and 2015, he attended the Harvard Medical School course for International Scholars.
He is currently the acting Medical Director of the National Reference Laboratory for Infectious Diseases at SKMC and the Medical Director of South with PureLab.
His research interests are in Infection Control and Antibiotic Therapy of Multi-Drug-Resistant Bacteria. He also participated in several COVID-19 vaccine trials as a co-investigator.
