Clostridium difficile bacteria is associated with severe diarrhoea and gastrointestinal discomfort in individuals on long-term antibiotics or immunocompromised ones. C. difficile rapid polymerase chain reaction is a qualitative molecular genetics diagnostic test used to quickly detect the presence of Clostridioides difficile bacteria and differentiation of Toxin B, and Binary Toxin in stool samples collected from patients suspected of having Clostridium difficile infection (CDI). The test helps healthcare professionals rapidly identify bacteria and enables timely treatment intervention. It is recommended when the patient has a positive C. difficile rapid antigen test.
