EBV-VCA Ab, IgG

General Info:

Description:

The IgG antibody test for Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) VCA detects antibodies indicative of EBV infection. During the acute phase of EBV infection, this IgG antibody emerges, reaching its peak approximately two to four weeks after onset. Subsequently, it experiences a slight decline but continues to persist throughout a person’s lifetime. The test distinguishes between acute and past infections by measuring IgG levels.
