During the process of glucose tolerance test (GTT), 75 g of glucose is dissolved in 250 to 300 ml of water. When testing for gestational diabetes, blood is taken twice – first after one hour and then again after another two hours. It is recommended by healthcare professionals that individual does the test while lying down or sitting, and do not eat, drink, or smoke until the last blood sample is collected.
