HLA-B27 is a type of class I major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecule found on the surface of all nucleated cells. Typing for histocompatibility antigen, HLA-B27 has been suggested as a helpful diagnostic test for ankylosing spondylitis (AS), reactive arthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA), or sometimes anterior uveitis.
