Almonds are tree nuts that are frequently consumed in several parts of the world and represent a potential allergenic hazard. It has amandin, or Pru du 6, 11S globulin, a major storage protein, as well as a major allergen showing sensitization by food consumption. It might lead to type 1 hypersensitivity or intolerance causing food syndrome, rarely leading to anaphylaxis.
