Birch allergy occurs due to IgE-mediated reactions in sensitized and allergic individuals. Clinically, they present with rhinoconjunctivitis and allergic asthma. Bet v 1 is the major birch pollen strongly associated with IgE-mediated allergens. Health care professionals use this test to identify birch pollen-related food allergies and recommend necessary immunotherapy and dietary guidelines.
Important note: Minimum volume is 1 mL and 0.5 mL for every additional allergen.
