The IgE allergy test for formaldehyde assesses allergic reactions to the chemical formaldehyde (FA) and formaldehyde releasers (FR). Clinically, these reactions can manifest as allergic contact dermatitis, peri-ungual/ulcer dermatitis, or systemic allergic dermatitis. Cross-reactivity may be observed between formaldehyde and formaldehyde releasers. Healthcare professionals employ this test to identify sensitization and determine allergic status, guiding necessary immunotherapy.
Important note: Minimum volume is 1 mL and 0.5 mL for every additional allergen.
