Marjoram is used as one of the ingredients in food stuff may sometimes induce symptoms of food allergy in sensitized individuals presenting with hypotension, vomiting, nausea, swelling of the lips and tongue, facial and palpebral oedema, facial eczema on sun exposure. This test used to detect specific IgE antibodies involved in causing allergic reactions.
