Onion (Allium cepa) is a commonly used vegetable in salads and cooked dishes. Onion is rarely known to induce Type 1 hypersensitivity reaction on exposure through ingestion. Sensitized individuals can develop rhino conjunctivitis, asthma and contact dermatitis. Severe allergies or anaphylaxis are rarely seen. This test detects specific IgE antibodies involved in causing allergic reactions.
Important note: Minimum volume is 1 mL and 0.5 mL for every additional allergen.
