Paprika (Capsicum annuum) is used as a food additive and exposure to paprika is known to induce Type 1 hypersensitivity reaction on exposure. Sensitized individuals commonly develop food allergy, food dependent exercise induced anaphylaxis, rhinitis and allergic contact dermatitis. IgE Allergy, Paprika test detects specific IgE antibodies causing such allergic reactions.
Important note: Minimum volume is 1 mL and 0.5 mL for every additional allergen.
