Lipids and their transport lipoproteins are significantly implicated in cardiovascular health. A lipid panel test directly measures cholesterol, triglyceride, and HDL using a colorimetric method. It derives an indirectly calculated value for non-HDL and LDL molecules. Assessing pro-atherogenic cholesterol, triglyceride, and LDL levels, as well as anti-atherogenic HDL levels, contributes to screening, managing, and diagnosing cardiovascular diseases.
