Description:

A 24-hour urine phosphate test measures the amount of phosphate in urine collected over the course of a day. Abnormal (high or low) levels suggest kidney dysfunction; elevated levels indicate hyperparathyroidism and renal tubular defects; and low levels suggest malabsorption, vitamin D deficiency, hyperparathyroidism, and liver disorders.
