The Vitamin B12 test assesses the concentration of vitamin B12 in the blood. Vitamin B12 is essential for neurological function, red blood cell production, and DNA synthesis. Low levels indicate vitamin B12 deficiency or pernicious anaemia and elevated levels suggest certain type of blood cancer, liver disease.

If they have received a Vitamin B12 injection within the last 2 weeks, this test cannot be ordered.
